Apply to ur life and take action!!!

Jeremiah 29:7
Spend time meditating on this single verse of Scripture.  What is God telling you through this passage?  What does it look like for you to apply this passage to your life?  Do you have a burden for the culture in which you live?  If not, pray that God would give you a burden to seek the welfare of your city, culture, and community.  If you already have a burden for your city, culture, and community, keep praying for its welfare.  God is in the process of using you and your church in a big way.

The STORM!!!

1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1This passage reveals that there are different personalities within the church.  This is the result of the church being filled with different types of people and circumstances.  When this happens, there are a lot of cultural questions that must be answered by the church. The New Testament makes it clear that we will see a perfect storm of people, circumstances, and personalities as we reach culture.  Take time this week to prepare your heart to handle the different types of people, circumstances, and personalities that will arise within your Church as we continue to reach our culture.  Pray diligently that this will happen.

Repent!!!

A spirit-filled church practices repentance.  What sins of omission and commission are in your life that you need to repent of?  If you are going to be a person who helps reach the culture in which you live, you need to be a person who practices repentance.

FAITH...what does it mean to have it???

Focus on Matthew 8:26 while thinking about the word faith.  What does it mean to have faith?  What is the difference between little faith and big faith?  Think about your life.  Are you living as if you have little faith or big faith?  What can you do to increase your faith?
In the Luke passage, the disciples ask Jesus to increase their faith.  Jesus gives them two ways.  Both ways involve telling them the truth.  Yes, faith comes by hearing.  And, the more you hear about God, the more you know about God.  And, the more you know about God, the more your faith in God increases.

CONTEXTUALIZATION

1 Corinthians 8:1-13This passage was written to a messy church that had lots of questions concerning what aspects of culture they should accept and what aspects of culture that they should reject.  Paul uses the examples in this passage to teach the people about how to decide what they should accept and what they should reject.  How good are you are at observing your culture and deciding what areas of culture are acceptable?  How do you come to your conclusions?  Pray for God to reveal the areas of culture that need to be changed.  Ask God to allow you to be a part of this!
